Moratorium

The Board of SHDWID held a duly noticed meeting on October 15, 2024 for the purpose of imposing a moratorium on new services. The moratorium also includes existing services that have been out of service for more than 12 months. With the continuing drought, growth in the district and summer issues with the district well, it is apparent that the district will have difficulty providing sufficient water for the future without significant capital investment in infrastructure. The District is currently researching grant funding for the construction of one or more tanks for storage. At this time, there isn't any information to share, other than looking for funding. The moratorium is temporary. How temporary depends on how quickly we can obtain funding. The issue will be revisited at least every six months.
